Assessments are performed by a doctor holding a full registration with the GMC.

What to expect
We provide a thorough yet concise process which will provide a full medical check to ensure you meet DVLA requirements.
- The doctor will check your ID and ask you questions about your health
- Review your medication
- Check your vision (bring glasses if you need them to drive; if you wear contact lenses you will need lens solution for when you remove them.)
- Check your urine for diabetes (sample to be done on arrival)
- Check your blood pressure

- Regular medicals completed for Dorset Driver Training and Wayside transport.
- The doctor previously worked for Abellio bus company and Wallace school of motoring (London).
After the medical
Once the medical is completed, you need to send this to the DVLA. If the form is not completed fully it will be returned by the DVLA causing delay.
It is important that the form is checked fully.
If you do not meet the eyesight requirements you will need to see an optician to get your eyes checked again with a view to needing glasses.
If your blood pressure is raised above standard you will need to see your GP to have this reassessed.
If the doctor identifies any serious medical conditions whilst completing your medical you will be advised what to do and how your application might be affected.

There is parking on the streets outside which permits plenty of time for the medical assessment. Please aim to arrive 5 minutes before your medical (so as to do a urine sample on arrival)
The medical should take 15 – 20 minutes.
* If you arrive late there is no guarantee that your medical will be carried out.
What to bring
Download the DVLA form (please print this from DVLA website here) . Please fill in your name and date of birth at the bottom of each page. Please also enter details of your GP on the first page.
Glasses ( If required )
If worn for driving please bring your glasses or contact lenses (with solution) – contact lenses will need to be removed for the assessment.
Either bring the prescription or the medication.
Please bring cash if not paid in advance.
Please bring your licence or passport to provide us with identification.
